We like music
Worship to us means a lot. It’s the place where we are accepted as we are. Where we find a community of friends and are able to share our joy, fears, and concerns during prayer-time and fellowship.
Our worship style is fresh and engaging, yet “traditionally Lutheran”. We sing a lot, we listen to texts from the Bible, we pray with old words of the Psalms and with our own words and we take Holy Communion. Our pastor and worship team love create spaces for the vivid Spirit of God to flow through our words and actions.
We love to worship God, especially through music. Martin Luther once said: “Those who sing pray twice.” We enjoy singing traditional hymns and contemporary Christian songs. That’s why we have a choir, a praise ensemble and a very gifted music director.
Praise Ensemble
The Praise Ensemble prepares the congregation for worship with “Lift Your Voices” before the service every other week.
Practices are on Thursdays at 7:30 PM. We are always looking for new talent! If you have any of these talents or are interested in learning, please contact the main office.

Our choir sings throughout Fall/Winter/Spring at 10:15 AM services. Practice is Wednesday at 7:45pm.
We like books
Join us as we travel back in time to study Bible text. Explore history, geography and politics during the time of Jesus and before. Discover the importance and value in stories of old and discuss their meaning in our modern-day communities.
Bible Study
We gather weekly to discuss the Bible and our faith. Engage with fellow participants who share personal stories that give us a better understanding of Bible stories. We use a variety of resources to encourage out of the box thinking, such as current literature/books from authors from different walks of life and ELCA bible study aids. All who wish will receive weekly information via email regarding the next Sunday’s Bible readings. Included in that email are several study aids that will help you dig deeper into the meaning of the Bible texts.
Book Club
If that is not your cup of tea or perhaps you are looking for a different study approach, please consider our CTK Book Club. Join us for the CTK Book Club and study the Bible via modern day literature.

We care about our neighbors
When Jesus gathered his disciples before he returned to heaven, he told them that the Holy Spirit would come to them and they were to go out and spread God’s message to the world. “They” – that’s “us” today. We are now the hands and feet of Jesus.
We help to feed and house the homeless through Abode. We help battered women and children through SAVE by providing new pillows and pillowcases. Cancer patients are supported with our Chemo Care Bags, which are donated to HERS Breast Cancer Foundation and filled and distributed to cancer patients. Our annual backpack project provides fully loaded backpacks to students k-12 whose families struggle financially. In this time of the COVID-19 pandemic, our “Sewing Bees” group has provided cloth masks to local nursing and assisted living facilities, and the Navajo nation in Arizona, as well as to many others in need. These opportunities to serve allow us to be God’s hands and feet to our neighbors.
We have a holistic approach to health
God loves everything about us: our body, our soul, and our mind. That’s why we are committed to help each other stay healthy.
We care for our body: When we can meet in person, there are Pilates classes offered against a small fee. During the COVID-19 pandemic we are meeting virtually to make sure everyone is safe. Once we will go back to in-person services, we will take great precautions and continue our streamed services. No one should be excluded because of health risks.
We care for our mind and soul: We strongly believe in prayers and deep relationships. When we can meet in person, we offer individual prayers during our worship services and visit the home bound. Right now, we have a great phone ministry. 10 people from our congregation check in weekly with members and friends of our congregation. If you would like to get a call, too, contact the office. A dedicated group also prays for whoever requests it. Just let us know and we will keep you and your loved ones in our prayers! Because if we hold the world in prayers, prayers will hold the world.
